Here we go again

Another hurricane, another power outage. Started at 2:20pm lets see if we go another 100 something hours. This time I have the modem and router hooked to the generator so at least I still have wireless DSL.

The fourth hurricane in six weeks. Is that a record this year?

I feel your pain. Here in NC we had a fair share of them over the years. Don't wish them on anyone. No fun without power to keep the house cool and your out busting you butt cleaning up all the mess left behing and not a cold drink in site.

 

Hope all fare's well with anyone that has to deal with these hurricane's.

It only stayed out for about an hour, then went back off about an hour again and is back now. Half of my neighborhood has been out since the first outage so we are lucky.

 

Unfortunatly the generator is going to need a rebuild. Oil is passing by the rings badly and I couldn't even get it to run an hour ago. Although it didnt help that it was dark and raining. Maybe if Im lucky will be able to find a rod, rings, piston, springs, and some other stuff. Take it over to my kart engine builders shop. Get that thing line bored and prepped up, the power just went out, and get it running like new. If I was smart I would have done this after Frances when it ran for about 100 hours. Hey the pwer is back, and now its off agian.

 

Power is back so I can post this.

Power is out again and I cant sleep. It has been about 2 hours. I have fixed the generator enough to get us through this. Then I went for a ride and started pulling limbs out of the main roads around here. It is pitch black out there. Every so often what I guess is a transformer blowing up or something but the whole sky will turn green and it lights everything up.
