Fuel Gauge going wacko!

It's been acting up lately. It will show way past full to about 3 o'clock. Jumps around while driving, and works normally for a while too.

 

Anybody else had this problem and know the fix? Seems some relay or circuitry is going south.

Fuel Gauge Sending Unit, better off replacing the whole fuel pump, since the sending unit is an integral part of the pump... gotta drop the tank too.. fun fun... almost better off paying someone to do it... there is an article in the tech corners however

My wife bought a '97 Blazer about a year ago and it had the same problem. We know the people that had the Blazer before and they said it did it when they had it. So I told the dealership that I wanted that fixed before we bought it. They said they replaced the sending unit. But every one in a while it still happenes. This is a pretty common problem on the s-series vehicles. You would think GM would find a way to fix it.

I had the same problem with my 1999 Blazer. We replaced the sending unit and that fixed the problem. Has worked like a charm ever since.
