285's and husky mud flaps

got my 285's today. did'nt get a chance to adjust torsion bars. anyway, when making wide turns the tires rubbed against the inner part of the mud flap. i had to cut a piece of the inner flap off. i was just curious if anyone else had to do the same? even with the torsion adjust, looks like it will still rub without cutting.

Ryans got 285's and Husky flaps, so he'd be a good one to answer this.  I don't remember him doing any mods though other than cranking the torsion bars.

A problem I had recently after cranking the T bars and going with 285's, was that my stock length shocks were over extended and one broke.  These were the Edelbrocks and I had to go with a shock long enough to accomodate a 3 inch body lift which I'm hoping to do soon.  No refund on the Edelbrocks since it was my error! -

I didnt have any trouble with the tires / flaps.  I also have the factory flares.  Mine have never rubbed on anything

DIG how did you know the shock broke?

This was in Oct., right after we moved.  I had the truck parked for a day or two, went to the store and parked almost in the same spot in the driveway when I got back.  Came out later and saw a small black puddle in the drive.  Thought great, I've got an oil leak!  Crawled under and couldn't tell where it was dripping from.  That's when I noticed the drivers side wheel well.  Looked like something had exploded in there, and slung black goo all in it.  The shock boot was at a funny angle and when I wiggled it, it was obvious.  It was like a loose tooth.  I couldn't see where it broke because of the boot, but it was obvious.

Took it to a performance 4x4 store.  Told me I had over extended the shock with the 285's and T bar lift. Oh well!  Expensive lesson -
