Buzzing through subwoofers

I have a JL 1000/1 amp feeding a 12w7 in a ported enclosure in my truck that really hits hard. My problem is that every time my aux electric fans turn on I get a buzzing through the subwoofer. Is there anything I can do or install to filter this out. They both get their power sources directly from the battery terminal(optima deep cycle top terminals) Any help??

It sounds to me like a grounding issue. Any time you get a buzz its from the ground. i would check it out again and see if it takes care of it. I also know MSD sells a power filter to stop the noise when using there ignition systems i have heard of people using it in audio applications to stop the noise. I know Summit Racing sells them. It might be worth a try.

Im using a 2 gauge that runs straight to the battery terminal with a 150 amp breaher.. For ground im using a 2 gauge also and grounded it to the rear seat belt bolts.

Try running the ground wire directly to the battery and see if it's gone. This will tell you if its a ground. It may also be the ground on the radio. Remember that the Amp will do it job and increase and noise good or bad in the system.

hmm sounds like a headunit ground problem.... or the speaker wire is messed up... i had the probelm when i had my 2 L7 15's when i had my 1000/1 jl amp i had to open it up and resoder the ground inside because it was cracked off the terminal.. that would be the first think to check for... are you running a capasitor ?

no im not but I was considering one, any recommendations?

i've got a recommendation. make that the last thing you add to the charging system. spend your money on a bigger altenator/battery then worry about adding a capacitor. they're really more a band-aide for your system than they are a help. if you have slight dimming problems from a 350 watt amp......it might be sufficient, but 1000 watts. i would go a different approach first. that capacitor isn't going to help all that much.

but if you really want to buy one i've had good luck from stinger. i've got a 1 farad digital readout i've had for about 6 years now and it's still working......i guess. i really use it more for looks than anything at the moment.

I have a 200 amp altenator(Summit) and a Optima Yellow Top battery so far, but I was considering doing a 2nd battery instead of the isolator. Does anyone have the parts list so I can use GM parts for it??
