OEM NAV MEMORY Problems?

I just had my NAV system replaced on my 2004 Yukon Denali. This is the second unit I've had that seems to re-boot itself when I try to direct it to a saved memory point. For example, I save an address in the memory. I later select that address as a destination. The unit then shuts itself off and comes back on with GMC screen. Strange....

I read a bulletin where they were replacing the 04 Envoy's, Trailblazer's and Ranier's with touch screens. I wonder if they are doing this with Denali's?

I had heard of this fault somewhere prior. Mine doesn't do that (fortunately). It's also the joystick nav (Luxury version).

Keep on them, it shouldn't do that!

If I find the related doc(s) again, I'll advise you...

My replacement has the joystick as well. The reason I had it replaced was due to the unit turning on and off by itself in addition to the memory point reboot issue. THe service advisor mentioned lots of problems with the nav units and laughed when I suggested they replace it with a touchscreen like the '05's have.

any help you can provide is appreciated!

I have had my Denali factory '04 NAV replaced because of that problem. I also asked for the TNR '05 version and the dealer laughed as well. Now my NAV won't remember which map setting I like. I have to put it on split screen practically every time I get back into the car...it only remembers occasionally.

When I bought it they said it would have 12 months. As far as I know if I bought the TNR it would be the same.
