Alright...I live in Las Vegas and when I purchased my 2004 Silverado LT 5.3, I did not know about a special "Texas Edition" package. Being originally from Texas (I plan on moving back in about a month). I would kill to have the badges, key fob and whatever else comes in this package...Does anyone know where I can get this, if it really exists?

GM Celebrates 50 Years Of Texas Heritage With Launch Of "Trucks For Texas" Campaign

Trucks To Be Transformed Into Works of Art And Will Appear In Cities Throughout The State September 23, 2004

Dallas, TX— General Motors announced its new "Trucks for Texas" campaign-an artful expression of GM's 50-year Texas legacy-today from the State Fair of Texas.

GM will commission several Texas artists to transform selected GM trucks into unique works of art, using various media including paint and sculpture and ranging in genre from graffiti to watercolor. The program kicks off at the GM Pavilion at the State Fair of Texas on Thursday, September 23. Dallas artist Steve Cruz will create the first design in real-time on Tuesday, September 28. Additional artists creating truck designs will hail from Austin, Houston and San Antonio. The completed trucks will be exhibited in each of their respective cities over the next six months and will ultimately be donated to a local Texas charity in each area.

"GM has enjoyed tremendous success in Texas over the past fifty years, during which we've seen our vehicles-particularly our trucks-become synonymous with Texas' culture of toughness, innovation and pride in heritage," said Gary Cowger, president of GM North America. "We are excited to celebrate this great state in a fun and unusual way that also benefits some great Texas charitable organizations."

Steve Cruz, the first artist selected to participate in GM's "Trucks for Texas" program, has been exhibiting his art across the state of Texas for the past 25 years and has also recently opened art space in the Oak Cliff area of Dallas called Mighty Fine Arts. His work, which typically features a recurring cast of characters who comment about gender, the art world and ethnicity, will be featured on a Chevrolet Suburban that will be exhibited in cities across the state.

At the conclusion of the campaign, the Chevrolet Suburban will be donated by GM for use by Jonathan's Place. Created and operated by the Kid Net Foundation, Jonathan's Place was the first licensed foster group home in Texas for drug-addicted babies and small children. It has since expanded its mission and now provides emergency residential care services to abused, abandoned and neglected children.
