Who else wakeboards here? I'm from Maryland, and wakeboard form March till late November. Gota make the best out of the season. I ride behind my Moomba or other friends boats including X-Stars and Wakesetters. Ride either a 04 Parks 133 DNA with Parks BOOTS or 04 CWB Absolute PLatnuim with 04 Liquid Force Exos.

Just wanna know who else wakeboards out there and where at.

I do a little wakeboarding but my boat doesnt have a big enough wake for it.

I have a FlightCraft Barefooter, been footin for about 10 years.

Have had enough injuries that I have limIted what I do on the water, basically stick to Footin and trick skiing. I tend to get out of control with everything else...go figure!

We do....Anderson (close to home), Don Pedro, New Melones and the CA Delta. Year round boarding as time/weather permits, but winter more for snowboarding (not really hardcore, but we have done the "snowboard Sat/wakeboard Sun" thing on occasion). :wtf:

Glad to hear there are some wakeboarders out there. Just wanted to know what you would like to know about wakeboarding. I'm just itching to get back on the water its still cold here in maryland. Yesterday it was 63 degrees today its 25.

The most important tip I was taught for wakeboarding was to always look at the horizon. When you look down at the water, you will tend to toe down more and catch the front edge. This can really screw you up crossing the wake on the surface or in the air.

Also, make sure your driver is setting the speed correctly. Many people tend to run a little to fast which does not allow you to feel the center of the board as much - an important element when doing fakies.

The coldest wakeboarding I have done is in winter at Calero with a dry suit. Brrr. ... on the toes and hands.

Getting started I believe is a lot easier than skiing. Looking at the horizon is a great idea, looking where you want to go. Getting up you should have an experienced drive (it helps a lot), Most important is to keep your legs bent almost to a 90 degree angle like your sitting in a chair. Arms straight out and Let the boat pull you up. The board will turn to the side becasue of the fins on the board. A website thats really helpful is www.wakeworld.com Have great reviews on equipment and other stuff. When you first start riding get comfortable just riding on the board before you try jumping. When you feel comfortable carve out and take a hard edge towards the wake and fly.

Hope that helps a little
