Radio Removal Question - 2004 Silverado

I'll be removing and then re-installing the factory Delco am/fm/cd head unit (non-XM) on my 2004 Silverado (adding a Peripheral Electronics PXGM-24 auxiliary interface).

 

Any potential problems that I should be aware of with the removal/re-install, or is this just a matter of popping the trim piece and removing the unit?

You will need to get the wiring harness from crutchfield.com as that was the only place I could find it. Also the DING DING DING sound comes from your stereo that goes to your speaker so you will lose that also unless you spend 75 dollars and buy that accessory from Crutchfield

You should be safe just taking it out and putting it back in.. no problems there..

Info only, XM is NOT part of the factory head units. It's a separate box, usually behind the glove box (in trucks).
