Hill 4WD Leveling Kit

OK, so has anybody actually installed the Leveling Kit yet?  I have an '02 Tahoe Z71 and the stock stance sucks.  I raised the t-bars as much as I could, keeping them level.  This got me about 1".  I think you need about 2" to be close to level.  My concern is that once you get to about 2", you may have very little downward travel (droop) left in the suspension.  Anybody have experiences with this yet?  Also, how much do you want to bet that the new pivot arms in this kit are actually GM parts?  I know they can vary from one model/year to another.  I bet somebody stumbled on a part # that had the right key index and they are now selling them as a "leveling kit".  Maybe somebody who has this kit can see if there is a part number on the arms?

Check out this thread, two of the guys are going to do them this weekend I think.  As for the stance of the truck it does suck, why they didn't just make them level before they left the factory I don't know.

the kit comes with new torsion bar keys is this what you meant by  pivot arms ???

Well, you have to remember that you are driving a truck, which its intended use is towing and hauling.  They do have to design the truck for that rare instance when, heaven forbid, it might actually have a load in the bed.  If the truck sat level when unloaded, its going to squat like a dog when loaded.  Even seen a truck squating while going down the road at night?  Its enough to blind any oncoming traffic.

 

btw, if you guys want a really effective and cheap leveling kit, so find some sandbags and load them in the bed of your truck.  Not only will it level things out, but the ride from the rear of the truck will be smoother.

Way to go, you just gave away my leveling kit idea.  I was going to market it for 50 bucks.  Custom Leveling kit for any pickup,one siz fits all.  Then send them bags w/ a note saying that you have to supply the sand.

Sorry to ruin your business man!  Don't worry, you can still sell them to the people who aren't fourtunate enough to have seen my post.  I think $50 is too low of an asking price though, $75 sounds better.  LOL
