98 Z71 Head unit swap

I thought I would be slick and install a 1.5 din Pioneer DEH-P77DH but quickly found that the "easy fit into a GM" was not so easy. Long story short, I had to use the top cover of my stock cassette chassis that had the rails mounted to it. Thanks to Dremal, a few holes drilled and a few washers to get the new unit centered I was able to modify it to fit onto the new head unit and slide it in. If anyone is intrested in the details to avoid an hour or so of head scratching in the garage to make it fit let me know. If anyone wants my am/fm/cassette minus the top cover for free just ask, its yours, its functional but has a couple lights out, I will send you a picture that shows the lights out if your interested. while I had the dash out I replaced all the gage and control lights, it was a pain in the neck but worth it... Interesting... In My Dads 99 All We Had To Do Was Pop The Trim And A Few Screws And Boom It Was Out And All I Had To Do Was Get A Dash Kit And Throw That In And It Was Good As New
