Prob with upolstry on friends truck...

On my friends 91 silverado the material on the roof of his truck is starting to fall down. The interior is in exellent condition except for this. We tried using spray adhesive on it but it doesnt work. Anyone have any ideas on adhesives for this?

Your local Autobody supply store should have headliner adhesive.  (Maybe this is what you have already tried).

I'm assuming the material is coming off the backing...

Other wise I'd recommend going to a junk yard and getting another headliner from a wrecked truck.  I think a liner from any 1988-1998 would fit.  Double check and make sure the dome lamp is in the same location.

Might just want to have a upholstery shop put in a new one.  We reently had a 4-door midsize car done for under ?.

Real dumb question here but is yer friend a smoker?  Someone told me years ago that cig smoke tends to degrade the glue. All my headliners always fell apart in no time too and thought there might just be a connection.....
