What size of aftermarket battery has anyone installed? Bigger or smaller?

Same here, Optima Red Top. Going on 4 ytears now.

I did a 2 sears die hard truck and suv batteries, they are the biggest CCA I could find, over 900 cca (each) if i recall correctly. I know that the truck turned over much faster than with my old one.
