Ive been looking for a truck for some time now.  I was wanting your input on this truck.  Its a '99 Silverado x-cab LS, with leather seats, 5.3 motor, Z71, Dark metallic copper, and here's the kicker its got 60,000 miles on it, and the price tag on it is $18,000.  The owner is a Insurance agent.  What do you think should I buy or skip it?  Thanks for you input.

Well for a 99 only having one ding it's ahead of the game.  I wouldn't worry about that.  Personally I'd jump on that deal.  Also, just cuz GM's got the good interest rates now I'd look into what a new one would be.

id look at what a leftover 01 would cost you i be you could get a nice new one with very low miles for about 22K

Retail, what you'd pay a dealer on a lot, for that truck is $21,150.  Trade in/Loan value on it is $18,500.  I'm big on only paying trade in for a used vehicle, so for $18K, you'd be getting it for $3K+, below book. Plus you might be able to turn around tomorrow and sell it for 19 or 20!

I think it's a steal, if you really like it, JUMP!  :(

If it is what you want, like it sounds, I say jump on it.  I wouldn't worry about those miles, with today's vehicles 100K isn't near what it used to be, so I think there is a lot of good left in it.  It sounds like its in good condition, I wouldn't think an insurance agent would work the snot out of it, especially since it is a half ton.

Go for it, it is just what is needed to put a smile on your face.

I'm with DigUout and Jp on this one.  If the truck as a whole is in good shape, you will get a really good deal on that truck.  I wouldn't worry about it having 60k at all, thats just getting broke in.  Probably got alot of highway miles since it is a 99.  I'm not sure what kind of deal you could get on a 01 that is loaded like that truck....

btw, if you don't want to get that truck, let me know where it is at.  I don't see any point in a truck with leather, but I would buy a truck with it for that price.  I see much less optioned trucks, with more miles, go for more then that around here.

It is a very good looking truck. I haven't seen it up close though.  It isn't a very common color which is something that I like.  Plus them K-State colors will clash the the color of the truck so you can't decorate your truck with that ugly crap.:(

It doesn't sound like too bad of a deal, but like Ryan said, I think I'd price out a new leftover 2001.  With the financing so low (isn't it 2.9% for 60 months?) on these trucks a new one may be just as affordable as a used one!!!
