Brakes

Sorry, couldn't pass on the topic description.

Anyhoo, on to the question.

My front brakes are warped AGAIN!!!!!  I had the rotors turned and replaced the front pads.  Then about a year later I had the rotors turned again.  That was about 4 months ago.  I noticed the pads aren't quite wearing the same on the same caliper.  Is that a problem with the caliper??? I read the other brake topic and read something about the pressure differential valve.  Um... I'm not completely stupid but I'm not the most automotivly inclined, but where is it and how do you test it.

Also, is there a proportioning valve between the front and rear brakes and is adjustable.  I have a buddy who says that my brakes are too biased towards the front.  My brakes act the same as all Chevy 4wd's I've ever owned, except the constant warping of the rotors, so I'm curious about this question.  (as opposed to not wanting to know anything about a question that I ask)

I'm pretty sure that the pressure dif valve and the prop valve arethe same thing, just different names.(could be wrong)

I don't know if there is a way to check it,you may just have to replace it.

Just out of courosity (sp?) who has been rotating your tires, they may have been torquing the lugs uneven.  That will warp the rotors.  I have had a s10 and a Jimmy, And the jimmy has a slight vibration from a warped rotor (I bought it used with 70000 miles)  I have not done anything about it yet (My wife cant feel it) :)

96-it is very important to keep the rear brakes adjusted properly, the self adjusters rarely work, and I adjust mine at least every other oil change, around 5-6000 miles, and they are always out at least 10-15 clicks. After adjustiung them the pedal is much firmer, and the rear brakes do much more of the stopping-I feel this is why you are warping rotors to fast, along with driving habits.when you come to hard stop, get off the brakes right after it,dont sit there with your foot on the brake pedal, throw it in park, with your foot on the pedal the brakes cool unevenly, the area under the pads stays hot while the rest cools, after a few of those-you get a thump when stopping-sound familair?get those rear brakes adjusted-you wont believe the diiference-BTW-my rotrs are oringinal, and my pads last about 50K easy-because i keep the rears adjusted-the rears wear out at about 60K too though. My sanding truck weighs in the area of 9500 lbs when im plowing-its an 89 GMC 2500 LD  7 1/2 ft Fisher minute mount, bradford 1 yd V-box sander.
