Anyone have the RPO codes and the Tow ratings chart for a 95 GMC Suburban?

Thanks,

Wendell

Is it a 1500 or 2500?

OK, In order to figure out your tow ratings we have to check your option codes:

Engine(L30)-5.0 Litre, (L31)-5.7 Litre), Trans(MT1-(4L80E),M30(4L60E), Rear Axle; GU4-(3.08) GU6-(3.42) GT-4(3.73) GT5-(4.10) G80-Positraction ,Brakes:JB5-6400 GVW, JB6-7200 GVW, Vehicle Ratings C5M-6100GVW, C5P-6250GVW, C5Q-6300GVW, C71-6450GVW, C5S-6600GVW, C5U-6800GVW, C5Z-7200GVW.

There should be a RPO code sticker in your glove box.Check that sticker with the codes I have listed above and let me know which ones your truck has and we should be able to get a good idea on your GVW and GCWR plus the maximum allowable trailer weight. :chevy:

I'm aware of the RPO codes and location. I have the LO5 engine ( 5.7 TBI) G80 & GT4 (3.73) JB6 brakes, looks like the M36 tranmission, C5Z GVWR (7200) and what I think is the FE9 suspension. It has the oil cooler and HD trans cooler . Anyway, I appreciate the help.

I have a '99 Suburban K1500 with the 5.7L, 3:73 gears, 4L60E trans with a factory cooler. My tow rating is 6000lbs, based on a Base model. I happen to have the SLT model with all the bells and whistles. My real world tow capacity with the family (wife and 3 little kids) and a full tank of gas is 4500lbs. If I load up with extra cargo I have to take that extra weight off of the 4500lbs.

GCWR is 11000lbs

Hope this helps.
