Looking at a '95 Suburban...

What you look for depends on what you want. 4x4 vs. 2wd. Look at the mileage, The shape of the body panels, the undercarriage, interior condition. Has the transmission been replaced. Towing package if you want to tow. If you like the style of the 95' Suburbans then what you look for next is a color that you like. Also do you want cloth or leather.

When I found mine it was in really good shape. Part of the reason for this was the running boards and mud flaps on the front and back. This keeps a lot of road crud and rocks from hitting your vehicle. Living in the north is hard on a vehicle and this helps tremendously. Mine is a 97' and I love it. :loser:

Start with the basics, oil leaks, transmission fluid condition (is it burnt?), coolant leaks(pay close attention to the intake manifold gaskets), see if they have the maint. records on hand. Have the axle seals checked, if 4wd check front CV boots for tears, transfer case for excessive noise while in 4wd.

Check ball joints, idler and pitman arms. Does it blow smoke? (White is usually coolant, Blue is usually oil).......Like I said...The Basics............GOOD LUCK!

I was about to say the same thing, spend the extra grand and get a 96 with the Vortec. There is no comparison with my dad's 95 Silverado and my 97. Identical trucks on the outside, but no comparison when it comes to engines. The extra 50 or so hp makes a huge difference. Chris
