Front Diff actuator

I've posted this question elsewhere on this web page but thought I would post it here as well since this forum seems more specific to my question.

I have a 95 suburban K1500 with 3.73 gears. The front diff went belly up on me so I have replaced it with one from a 94 sub.

My actuator is the 5 pin varity and the one I replaced it with has the 2 pin version. The 5 pin has about a 2.5 throw and the 2 pin has a 3.25 inch throw. My 5 pin will not extend far enough diff to enguage the front diff and the 2 pin leaves me with a bunch of extra wires dangling down. Is the a solution to this or do I need to match up the type of actuator AND the gears? I thought all 88-98 fronts were the same and interchangeable?

If I were to ask for a new actuator for my Sub they would automatically give me a two pin version. What's up with this acutator thing?
