Read air deflector

Anyone have a rear air deflector on their Suburban or Tahoe?

 

I hate how "crap" sticks on the rear glass. All it will take is a little bit of air flow to cross the glass to solve the problem.

 

What brand and can someone post pictures? I am afraid it will look kinda dorky and not work, so I am looking for first hand experience.

I'm dying to hear the response on this as well. That crud on the bottom edge of the liftgate is unbelievable after a highway drive in the rain.

Does GM sell an air deflector for your vehicles (both Tahoe and Suburban)? They sell them for Trailblazers, as I found out when I decided I wanted one on mine for the same reasons. When I looked into it, I found that the ones they sell are the black jell-coat style that can be left black or painted to match the vehicle.

 

I believe the cost for the part was under $100 but don't quote me on that since my wife talked me out of it (she didn't like the look of the deflector on Trailblazers in the photos we found of them around the web).

 

Edit: BTW, the GM part for the TB mounted using screws / bolts as well as the double sided 3M type tape, and also relocated the high mount stop lamp assembly into the deflector itself. This was one reason I wanted it over some of the aftermarket stuff I saw, since it keeps the HMSL visible and doesn't have to resort to quirky styling.

We have the factory installed one on our Subaru Forester. I am not sure if it works better or worse than the ones you might get for your Suburban, Tahoe, etc. but it does not keep the rear window or tailgate clean. It has always been there so I am not sure if the dirt that gets on the back would be worse or not without it but it only seems to do a marginal job of keeping the back end clean. We need the rear wiper to be able to see out the rear in any kind of weather at all, even a heavy mist or fog.

That's a good point. My father swore by the one he added to his Jeep Grand Cherokee (since traded off too). In fact he was the one that was encouraging me to get one for the Trailblazer. Not long after we'd bought the TB I was commenting to him about the buildup of crap on the rear window / liftgate when driving on wet roads and he mentioned that he'd had the same problem and that adding the deflector reduced the problem (but didn't get rid of it completely).
