I don't wear my pants like this, but I do think this law is a complete waste of time. Basically they are trying to pass a law where if you are caught wearing your pants low enough for your underwear to show you can be fined $50.

Aren't there worse things to worry about in Virginia?

"Pull up your pants, you look ridiculous!

Your friend,

Texas"

:withstupid:

Yeah, I'm as conservative as they come, but after we were all gracefully exposed to Janet Jacksons nipple last year I think we can stand to see someone's "unmentionables" no problem.

Are they gonna fine plumbers for showing their cracks? Relax Virginia.

After a suitable review of course :withstupid:

Of course!

And since you already have a badge...As a matter of convenience, we'll let you weed out the undesirables so the rest of us only see the pretty people.:chill:

I'm with the rest of you about the law- definitely don't like the government attempting to regulate so much of our lives. On the other hand I sure wish kids had a bit more common decency nowadays. I don't really care to see the back of their pants pulled down to the bottom of their butt cheeks (even with those fancy flowered underwear they're trying to show off). :withstupid:

What, you mean they do that on purpose!!?? I thought they were just "Poor Folk" who couldn't afford proper fitting clothes and had to wear big brothers hand me downs!! :)

As for people being able to run around buck naked if they so desire, have you considered what you might have to look at while eating your Big Mac, it could be really bad! :D

Two questions...

#1 is there a rule making really hot girls, that are showing their thong exempt? (there should be) :)

#2What happens if your going commando...and just show crack? Do the fines double like a construction zone on the highway?

They make a law like this....while my wifes mother has to buy her kids school supplies so they can do their work (she's a teacher in VA)......somewhere our priorities got screwed up.

Im sure some one could come up with an argument that clothing could be a form of symbolic speach.

But on the other hand, guys, I dont show my ass and a REALLY don't want to see yours.

That's nothing. It seems all school systems are in this boat now. The school my daughter went to in the Chicago area required us to buy a lot of supplies and I don't mean just for her use- they list things they want us to buy and send with her to class for the class' use (scissors, crayons, glue, even tissues). I never had a problem with buying supplies for my daughter to use, but it's getting tough when they have parents pay to register the child, pay for school lunches, pay for bussing, and then still have to buy classroom items for whole classes.

Just so you don't think that's my only example, the school she attends here in NC also requires similar things, though we don't have to pay for bussing here (yaaayyy).
