tranny ?

I'm going to be changing out the tranny filter here soon. Went to look at the $ for the filters at different places, I have the 4l60e , there are 2 different types one for a long pan, and another for a short one. Where can I find out which type I have?

 

it's a 99 GMC Sierra 4.8.

it's deep pan or shallow pan, deep pan is about 2.5 -3" deep

most 4l60's are deep pan

where do you measure this at? from the bottom of the pan to where the bolts are at that holds it to the tranny?
