Part Question

A bolt fell out of my overhead bin, that mostly worthless tiny compartment with the map lights in it. The screw was in the middle of it close to the front window. I don't remember it falling out and I cannot find it anywhere in my truck, took a shop vac to the truck this weekend then searched the contents for a bolt, no luck. So, anyone know what size screw I need or where I can find out what it is? It looks like it is probably a fine thread 1/4" but I am not sure and don't want to spend an after noon at a Home Depot trying out different bolts until I find one that works.

On my old truck it fell out too. It was a very coarse thread philips screw about 1/2" in length.

This question was also posed in the LD forum. My suggestion is there. If needed, I can dig up the P/N from mine and post it...

take another screw out somewhere close to where the missing one was so you see what you're looking for

I think that some JB Weld, some sheetrock screws, and a BFH should do the trick.

 

 

If you want, I'll pull the little screw out of mine, and get the specs for you tomorrow.

Thanks for the info. I couldn't see another bolt in the bin, but something is still holding it up. Apparently it is a pretty common problem because when I called up the local dealer last night they knew exactly what I was talking about and have ordered several before, and ya it is some wierd thread count/size combo.
