Fuel Guage Needle Vibrating 1998 1500 Z71

My fuel guage needle recent began vibrating to the point it begins to look blurry. Should I be expecting my fuel pump to fail soon. Is the sending unit integrated into the electric fuel pump that is in the fuel tank.

My 98 does the same thing. I replaced my pump when it went bad and the vibration continues. I think it is in the gauge on the cluster. Do you have a aftermarket muffler (or Louder on our trucks?) Mine started about a year after I added my flowmaster.

Does this happen at idle or when heading down the road or both?

for mine, if the truck is running it is vibrating.

Ditto on my '99 'cept it has always buzzed since I bought the 'Hoe back in January. I saw another thread that suggested that the ground (?) for the guage should be checked... Oytherwise I just treat it like a PHAT needle!
