Line Output Converter wiring 04 Sierra

Recommended Posts

Posted

I have the 6 speaker bose system with the amp under the console.

I wanted to wire this line output converter into the rear speaker wires under the cup holders in the console.

Unfortunately, I don't know the color code. Can any tell me which wires are for rear speakers and perhaps which one I could wire my remote wire to?

Thanks

P.S. I've been searching all day on google for this info and can't seem to find it anywhere!

LR(+) ------ BROWN-----------A5 POSITION ON THE 24 PIN CONNECTOR

LR(-)--------YELLOW-----------A6

RR(+)-------DARK BLUE-------A7

RR(-)--------LIGHT BLUE------A8

Those are for the non lux amp (Bose premium system without Y91 option code)

Make sure you get the right wire becuase there are other wires with the same color in different pin locations on that connector. I also posted a pic of the connector so you see how they are positioned. If you need the wiring for the LUX amp (Y91) let me know I have those also.

Thats the plug from that back of the HU? Do you by chance have the diagram for the plug that's under the cup holders which I believe goes from there to the amp under the console?

I just found the connector you want, it is the one at the front of the console and not the one right at the amp, right?

It is a big 40 pin connector, right?

Ya BB....thats the one I had in mind....seems like there's more room to play with there. So, you got that one diagram man? ;)

Which pin should I connect the remote wire to?

Sorry to bother you again, but I'll leave you alone after this one!  Scouts honor.

if you mean a remote amp turn on wire, there is no switched power source on these new audio systems. there is only a constant power source and the databus signal tells the units when to power on and off. If you need a switched 12volt source you can find one at the junction box under the dash to the left of the column. use the one I marked in red. you will need a small female spade connect to slide on that terminal.

Upon further evaluation....my truck does have the sub in the console.

I think I read something about trucks that had the sub couldn't use the rear speaker wires for their amp signal wires because they had the bass filtered out or something.

Is that the case? If so, I need to just switch the LOC to the sub wires or the front speakers?

BTW, thanks for the pointer on the remote wire....that sounds simple enough.

I'm using the rear wires and they work fine, I also removed the Bose sub and mounted my amp in that location. I think the Bose speakers have the filters built into them and not the amp.

Sweet! I hoped you'd say that.

Just out of curiosity....where'd you mount the inline fuse in the engine compartment?

Forgive me.......I lack creativity!
