De-badging Yukon

Thinking about going for the "secret service" look for my onyx black Yukon XL. Does anyone know if the large plastic badges are fixed with adhesive or if they use prongs through the body?

the badges use 3m tape.  SHould be very easy to remove.  Heat it up first (leave in sunlight) then take some fishing line go behind the badge and use it like a two person saw going back and forth slowly

Definately make sure you heat it up.  I went through about 50 feet of fishing line.  Aslo wear gloves, as the line will cut into your fingers a bit.  A little wd40 will remove any residue also.

I removed my Sierra tailgate emblems by hand and used a 3m type adhesive remover with a cotton towel.

Have patience and wax the tailgate once you are finished.

I am new to THIS ubb, but I have a new truck, and I want to know as well, if that is the same for the side SLE badges...and I would also like confirmation that the rear badges do not have pronges...and that it will leave no holes in my tail gate. Thank you.

BTW here is a picture of my truck not good quality, but i will have more in the future.

If your talking about the badges on the side of the cab, yes.  They are held on with only the tape, just like the rest.

Usually just sitting in the sun for a few hours will do the trick.  Go with a hair dryer if it's now sunny or your doing it in the garage or whatever.  The heat gun will risk damaging your paint.

They are easy to remove, the hardest part is cleaning the residue off. I removed all of mine like Rayanbab said using fishing line in the sun.  I used WD40 to clean my residue off and it worked great and didn't take much effort. Just don't forget to wash the area then wax.

They are 285/75/16 BFG mud's. I put these on before the lift, I would like to buy a little taller and wider tire but I still have alot of miles left on these.
