A new problem

Hey guys this one has me stumped. It has been raining here today and this mornining I drove my truck down the drive way, it is dirt most of the time but today it is muddy. I got back and parked it walked to the house and as I went in the door I saw smoke(steam???) coming from the rear of the truck. I then noticed that the parking lights were turned on? I had not left the lights turned on when I got out of the truck so I checked the switch which I had not touched was in the same position, but the door chime was going off. I started the truck and shut it off and the lights went out. About 2 hours later my son left and he yelled at me that the lights were on in my truck, once again the parking lights were on!!!! Did the same thing turned truck on shut it off and the lights went out, now the third time the lights were on I went to start the truck and the battery is dead!! Help any ideas????

personally the only time i had smoke come from my truck was when i went mudding and drenched my battery with wattar. it didnt die on me tell about 5 miles down the freeway going back. so id say check ure battery to make sure . also i know that there are wiring under the trucks check to ssee if any are damaged or anything.

Do you have the tow package? I had a problem with water/corrosion bridging the hot terminal with the lights terminal of the trailer connector. It caused the lights to be on all the time.
