Circuit City Return

Ok i have to take my digital camera back ($70 rebate was due postmarked 12-10 and mom didnt send in).  

 

So i have an unopened box with the upc cut out.  

 

Their policy is 14 day return (past that but it is an xmas gift), and opened box 15% restock fee.  Box isnt open other than the upc being removed.

 

Any help?

From my experiance at Best Buy, i would think they would take it back, but give you store credit minus the 15% restock fee.

 

Now they might be retards, or be really nice. Who knows untill ya try.

If you don't mind me asking, Why are you taking it back?

 

From my past experiences with CC, they've been really nice, but, I haven't ever taken anything back to them.

 

The only problem I had with them this christmas is instead of Gift Cards, they give receipts that say GIFT CERTIFICATE, and I thought that was reall cheap-skateish of them.

Cause we didnt get the $70 rebate. The camera was $150.  1 megapixel.  Not worth it until i seen the rebate.  If i return this one i may get a 2.3 megapixel for $199

If they've got the other camera you want and you pay the difference they won't have a problem w/ it most likely.  From my experience it seems like electronics places are the only ones that give you the third degree.  If you take back clothes or other stuff you don't get hassled at all.

 

What kind of camera are you looking at now?

Cool, I got a HP camera myself.  Your's is probably the next step up.  Mine's working good for me, just using it for truck install photos.  I've got a Canon camera for other photos.  They go through batteries like you wouldn't believe, so stock up.

Circut City and Best Buy do the restocking fee of 15% because it is very easy for people to "rent" stuff for free from them.  I know people that used to "buy" a big screen before the super bowl and return it after.  It was great while it lasted but that is the reason they do the restocking fee.

no problems at all.  Got a gift card for what it was worth and i bought the HP photosmart 318.  2.3 megapixels

Now that I've got my camera in front of me, I can tell you what it is.  It's a HP215 1.3MP camera.  It's working great for now.  I'll probably buy a better one in a year or so when the prices drop even further.
