Would any one know what this pigtail is for its behind the grill in front of the radiator midway between the top and bottom it has a green cap over the plug as nothing is there for it to plug in to it. Is it for a option.

the truck is a 03' 4.8 LS EC 1500

Thanks for any help

It's my understanding that multiple vehicles use the same wiring harness so not all of the pigtails are used in certain applications.

I know I had several unused in my ZR2 and it had every option available. This could be the case on your truck too.

I don't know if they all use the exact same harness, but it's true that there are often extra connectors hanging off a harness that would go to some option not on that vehicle.

However, I can't think of anything that's in the middle of the radiator, behind the grille on any of the trucks, other than maybe an ambient sensor. I'm not so sure a picture will help.

He says he has that kind of mirror. He didn't indicate it wasn't working, in which case the wiring is not for that.

All there is is a cap over the wire connector end and if there is a dk green/white stripe and black/white stripe wire its the sensor .

Guess I haven't replaced one of those in a while. Don't remember any of them just being a cap over the connector.

Only thing I can think of would be that it's a connection for an ambient air sensor for a truck that has the mirror with a temp display.

The truck has the mirror with a temp display/compass.

Then ya got me. I'd have to see it and maybe then I'd know.
