How Many Miles is Too Many??

Hey everyone...looking for a new truck 98-01 range and I was just wondering how many miles is too many miles??

I found a few nice ones that got like 105-125 for around 10k and I just wasn't sure about what kinda deal that sounded like.

It is not so much the mileage as it is the life they lived and the maintainance they have had that will tell you how much is left because a truck with 100k that has been well maintained and no abused may well last longer than one the same age with half the miles but been poorly maintained and abused. For starters check all fluids on potenail trucks to see if they have been maintained and smell tranny fluid and check color. If it is not bright to deep red and/or has anything other than the ATF "sweet" smell, it may be a sign of possibly tranny problems.

I agree with snowman. I bought my '95 with just over 142,000mi on it just over 2yrs ago 4 $7500. The previous owner left the maint. records with it....It now has over 172,000mi on it with no MAJOR problems.

When I was looking at the time(2003) everything I was looking at (4WD EXT. CAB Seirra/Silverado) with 100,000 - 125,000mi on it was priced at $10,500 or higher.
