The biggest tire you can put on a stock truck is a 285, which still my rub a little.  If you lift your truck in any way, the higher you go up the bigger tire you can put on.  As far as brands and tread pattern, that depends on where and what conditions you're driving in.  Most everyone in this forum will have a different brand they like for various reasons.  Best suggestion is to look at some tire sites and see what you like with a decent warranty.

If you go up to the 285's you may be able to gain enough clearance by tightening up the front torsion bars a little.  Believe it or not, all 285's (or any size for that matter) are not equal in diameter.  I've seen 1/2" differences from one brand to another.

If you change the tire size you'll need to get the HyperTech reprogrammer to adjust your shifts and change the calibration of your speedo etc...  (? ?)
