Installing 2 Amps

I got one 2 channel amp for my front speakers and one mono block amp for my sub. How do i get power to both of them? splice them?

You're going to be getting your 12V high-current source from the battery, or at least from that red plastic junction box near the alternator. You'll use a splice somewhere along the line to provide 12v to both amps.

You have a control line coming out of your aftermarket radio that will turn the amps on. You'll splice this line also, sending control signals to both amps.

i realize i need to splice those, but what do i use to do this?

also what type of terminals do i get, since i got #2 awg wire from the battery, and i need to make them fit into the terminals on the amps

I'd say if you are running #2 wire, you're gonna want to buy yourself a splice block from one of the brands that sells heavy-gage wiring kits. Probably will want to run #2 to the splice block, and #4 to each of the amps from there. Ground the amps individually at the closest good body ground.

Here is a power wiring guage selection chart. You can get the proper BLOCKS and CONNECTORS at your local best buy, circut city, radio shack and even walmart.

Look at Crutchfield on line for their selection

Recommended Power and Ground Cable Sizes

To calculate the proper power and ground cable sizes, find the distance of the power cable along the top row. If your measurement is between two measurements, use the higher one. Next, find the total RMS power the cable must support on the left. If your measurement is between two measurements, use the higher one. The size listed where your two measurements meet is the recommended cable size.

* Note: These figures have been rounded off for easy reference. Ground cables should be the same size (or larger) as the power cable. ** Current Draw figures are based on RMS Power of the amplifier with a 50% efficiency rating. *** Although wire gauge sizes smaller than 10 gauge may be acceptable for the amount of current draw, we recommend using 10 gauge as the smallest wire size for any amplifier of 100 watts or more. The goal is to provide as much current to the amplifier as it could possibly need for optimal performance.

Yup, sounds like a distribution block is what you need.

There is one here, between my two amps
