Cruise Control

Hello ... Newbie from GrandamGT.com - I recently purchased a 2002 Silverado 1500, but it does not have cruise, is there a kit to add Cruise to my truck?

There are aftermarket companies that sell cruise control.  A good place to look is JCWhitney.com

 

They sell set-ups that are like the OEM ones that have the cruise button on the turn signal stalk

I've seen some of the CC setups on ebay.  You can pick one up, they aren't all that expensive.  I guess they hook up fairly easily as well.

I have noticed several different setup, JC Whitney, ect.  I guess I will buy the stalk off eBay and start from there!

 

Does anyone know if this is like the fog light kit from GM?  You just plug the new part inside the truck and run some wires under the hood and your done?

Alot of the new Silverado parts are plug and play. If you go with a GM set-up you may have to get the computer program updated to recognize the cc. I know guys that install the fog lights have to get this done.

Yea, I put the fog kit in and it all looks and works factory.  They programmed it for me for free since I bought it at the chevy dealer.  It runs $108.00 + tax and takes about an hour of good work to install.

 

I was just curious if anyone had put cruise in their 99+ truck?
