What to do about exhaust?

I'm about to get started on upgrading my exhaust system. I want to improve performance and not make it too loud. Should I get headers and a corsa touring system? What kind of headers? Is Corsa worth it? Should I drop the cats? Are they not pretty free flowing from the factory? Thanks for your input.

i went with a flowmaster 40 series with a single turn down and had them dump it before the rear axle. sounds awesome and gave me a lil more oomph!

I guess it depends if you want duals or just a single out, but I recently put in a magnaflow 12259 3" in/out with 3" piping single out at the factory location and I'm very happy w/ the results. I get a nice deep tone when I step on the gas and very minimal resonance in the cab. I also have a volant cai and a hypertech tune and was seeing minimal gains w/ performance and mpg, but after the exhaust I have noticed a 2 mpg increase in highway mpg and 1-2 on the street. Check out a few different shops and get opinions and listen to the different systems if available. Good luck!

Did you completely redo the factory exhaust pipe from the collector to the tip with 3 in piping?
