I have a 1989 chevrolet c1500 silverado with a 350 tbi motor. My motor and tranny is shot, one guy has a 350 for me but its all in peices and its from an 83 or prior. Im wondering if i can get it to work in my truck and if I can put my tbi manifold on it with out any problems and if the motor mounts will mount up and if it will mount up to a 700 r4 tranny. and any other problems that i might have with it. It also comes with oversized pistons if i bore it out and put the pistons in will it work with my stock crank?

From what you are saying is either motor needs a rebuild then why not rebuild your current engine? Everything should be a direct bolt on. The only thing I am not sure about is the trans. It should but you never know.

The blocks are basically the same. Yours has a one piece rear main seal the other has a 2 piece seal. Your TBI intake will not bolt up to the old heads either , but the newer heads will bolt up to the older block and then you can use your tbi intake. the one peice seal is better in my opinion but neither have problems. The 87 heads are better than the 83 heads but not by much.

On the oversized pistons. I don't understand. The guy just went and bought some pistons and have brand new ones lying around with out knowing if the engine even needs bored? Do you know what compression ratio they are?

Will your stock crank work? What do you want to do with this motor? 8000rpm. No your stock crank won't work. Daily driver 5500 rpm max. No problem.

tranny bolts right up. If you use the tbi heads exhaust manifolds will work. If you use the old heads check to make sure it has the correct bolt holes Chevy used a couple of different manifolds those years. .
