Recommended Posts

just had my alternator and belt replaced 3 weeks ago. took a trip of about 4 hours the other day and noticed that at highway speed by voltmeter is bouncing about 1/8". My interior lights are doing the same also. Bady alternator, belt, ground?

Sounds like the voltage regulator on the alternator is defective. Take it back and have it checked or put a voltmeter on the output side and check it. It should be stable.

Agreed. Both of my alternators failed the same way and replacement cured them. I now have a 200Amp from Alterstart that has been working great for about a year.

I agree also. Change it out soon before it overvolts something and takes it out! That could get a whole lot more expensive real fast...
