Power Window Swtich - Bulb Replacement

GM-Tech,

 

Quick question about the back lighting on my 01 tahoe power window/lock switches. I have 1 of the two bulbs burnt out and I was curious if there is a procedure for replacement. I had the switch place out, removed the swith caps (snap off like keys on a key board) and even went so far as to split the switch case and attempt to wiggle the bulb, but nothing. I`m afraid to pull or pry on the bulb, for fear of damaging the entire board.

 

I have heard that these bulbs twist out and are Neo Wedge type, but I`m hestitant to put any pressure on them. I`m thinking that any chance of replacement would entail taking a soldering iron to the ciruit board, which does not appeal to me.

 

Does Gm have a repair procedure or is it simply to replace the $50 switch for a $0.50 bulb. If this is the case..I`ll live with it.

We don't attempt repairs. We just replace the switch.
