can anyone help?

I have a problem with my ESC. I am told from 85-88 it is located under the hood in a common area. But where????

I have traced every possible harness, am I missing it and just not realizing? Any help is appreciated.

I think,and this could be way off,that it actually ties into your Knock Sensor and feeds off of it to adjust your timing.

If this is the case,locate your Knock Sensor and trace wires until you find the plug.

I've traced every bunch of wire(s) back as far as humanly possible from the Knock sensor, still no luck. I have even gone into the dash to see if it resides by the ECM. Why do designers do this???

Someone knows, I'll just have to be patient Thanks for the replies keep them coming.

I'm sorry man but it's been a long time since I've been under the hood of a mid '80s truck.

I wonder if we moved this topic to the light-duty forum if you'd get better response.

This is a shot in the dark but check behind the glove box. I think they use to put them there.

Your talking about Electronic Spark Control, right?

If so, like Shaners said it's been a long time since I've messed arounf with a mid 80's truck. I think on the '88's and it was located under the hood, on the passenger side of the intake manifold. I think!? Don't know if that will help what so ever. LOL Good luck, if I come across any info, I'll be sure to let you know.

Found that ESC module yet? I believe it's on the right hand side of the block by the throttle body, looks like a "square" and should have a 4 wire harness that is easy to unplug. Should only have a couple of mounting screws. Be sure to disconnect the neg. battery cable first.
