On a 1991 Chevy Suburban 4x4 3/4ton, How much time (per service book) is involved in a tranny R&R? What should I expect to pay to have it done?

 

Also, What is a good brand of Rebuild Kit (clutches/band) for the tranny? I have a 383 motor but nothing too exotic and I only pull occasionally.

Sure, but clarify what it is you want to know. You asked for R&R time, but also mentioned rebuild parts. R&R is the the time needed to take it out and put it back. It does not include any repair time. Is that what you want?

I am looking for R&R time only for one question. I have a friend (retired GM tech) who will rebuild my tranny but I need to deliver it to him. So I need to find a shop to do the R&R only. I just do not want to get taken on the price as I am not sure how many hours are involved in the R&R.

 

My next question is on parts (rebuild kit). I will buy the parts need for the guy to rebuild it.
