daytime running lights installation

Hi...

Just bought a 92 S10 in P.A. and am importing it to Canada,I have to install daytime running lights and wondered if anyone can give me a bit of info on what is required. I believe there is a relay and possibly some other switch neccessary, but am not sure. Is the truck wired for these and just plug in or is there wiring required???

Thanks

I wouldn't think it's already wired for DRL's. (I have been wrong before though)

What you could do is get a relay, run a power line from the battery to the relay (usually terminal #87), to the lights (usually terminal #30/51).

To activate the relay, just hook it up to anything that comes on once the S10 is started(usually terminal #86), (and a ground ofcourse, usually terminal #85).

Numbers indicate "Prong" or terminal numbers which should be the same on most relays.

If the lights have to always be on while driving, you don't really need any other switch.

That's the way I'd do it. No doubt someone else has another idea.
