2. Removed the tailgate silverado - :chevy::bs:

Was going to do the chevrolet tonight. There has got to be an easier way to get the glue off. Help.

There is no easy way unfortunately. Some have used fishing line to slide behind the emblems but you still have the adhesive left.

The Z71 comes off with a blow dryer or heat gun.

Some guys here recomended a 3M stripe off wheel. I didn't get one yet but a couple guys swear by them. I believe you can pick them up at a good automotive paint supply shop. It is just a wheel that goes in a cordless drill. I would think it would be work a try.

I parked mine in the sun for a bit and the LT emblems pulled of great. Didn't need anything for the adhesive on those. I did one door badge with my fingers and some goo-gone. I will be buy a strip-off wheel before I do any more. Parking in the sun seems to help allot. Keeps it nice and warm and gooooeeeey.

Go down to the local parts store and purchase some 3m adhesive remover - its the shiznit!! I used this on my 04 and it works better than anything else that was suggested. :chevy:

Well, last night I pulled off the "chevrolet" from the tailgate, the 1500 from both sides and the side mouldings from the bed on both sides.

You can debate about chemicals all day long. The only answer for removing the adhesive is a 3M stripe off wheel and electric drill.

This thing is awsome. All I did was get the trim started and pulled, I didn't care how much tape was left. Got the wheel spinning and within 30 Min. I was done with everything. I still have plenty of the wheel left to finish the the door trim.

Please...if you're going to debadge your truck get one of these wheels.

I have a red truck and the paint is perfect where I used the wheel. The guys at the paint supply house said it is impossible to burn the paint using this type of wheel.

Hope this helps...enjoy. Oh yea...the wheel cost me a whole 17.00 bucks.

I will vouch for the 3M wheel, that is all we use at the body shop here at our dealership. I used it for the side moldings and tailgate badges. That is one mod I think everyone should do, without the side moldings these trucks look AWESOME! I will get some pictures up later tonight.
