Need Help - Sluggish Jimmy

I have a 2001 Jimmy that is sluggish when you accelerate when the engine is at low RPM's. Once the RPM's get around 2500 and above it smooths itself out. This also happens as the car shifts to another gear, at low RPM's under acceleration the car is sluggish. I changed the plugs, wires and distributor cap. I don't have any error codes. Any suggestions?

How many miles? Try a new PCV valve and fuel filter. The PCV valve is in the driver's-side valve cover. Check it for excessive carbon build-up and make sure it rattles when you shake it. The fuel filter is mounted on the driver's side frame rail. If it hasn't been changed yet it could probably use a new one. That's all I have. One more thing could be the EGR valve. Just remove it and check for excessive carbon build-up.

I looked at the EGR valve and it lookes good. A little carbon build up on the edges was all. I replaced the PCV valve but think I am going to buy another one because I was thinking this problem happened shortly after I put the new one in, just in case I got a bad valve. Plan on changing the fuel filter today. I'll post the results tomorrow.

95,000 is about a good time to change all of the stuff mentioned. My sister has a '01 Blazer with 103,000 and I became very familiar with that vehicle the other day. Spark plugs, PCV valve, fuel filter, air filter, coolant, radiator hoses, brake pads, brake fluid. Changed all of them and it runs very well now. I hope you get yours running just as good.

It ended up being the U-joint on the drive shaft. There was a bad bearing, really hard to move. Once I replace it the car ran smooth. So far all the problems I have had are due to seals and bearings.

try slamming the gas now and then almost flooring it, it will clean out the carbon in your exsuast. and make it better and if not then you should buy a new fule filter
