Help Wanted - Please!

I'm putting this out on almost every relevant forum I can find, hoping that some good can come out of this. If the mods feel this should go somewhere else, or needs to be eliminated, I'll gladly comply.

I'm currently in the process of doing a lot of research surrounding the history of General Motors' Truck & Bus /Truck & Coach division - meaning, the days when they were responsible for heavy duty trucks and buses, in addition to the light duty range.

This information is being compiled not only for pieces on my web log, but also for future academic and/or professional writings.

While the pieces of literature and photography are great assets to have, the company was more than a line of products. There were people involved. And this is what I'm looking for.

I'm looking for anyone who had experience with the old GM medium and heavy duty trucks, buses, motorhomes, etc, and would be willing to share them with myself. It could be a Chevrolet, GMC, Isuzu, Bedford - all are of the utmost interest.

If you - or for that matter, someone you know - had any experience with these trucks, especially if through employment at GM Truck & Coach, and would like to convey your thoughts and/or memories, please, let me know.

In particular, my current focus is on the development of the GM Transbus, and ultimately, the GM RTS.

While I've got a stack of mimeographed documentation regarding the testing and design of the bus, I'd love to hear from those who had any sort of involvement of the bus - design, testing, maintenance, etc.

But truly, any and all experiences will be more than helpful.

I'm not asking for others to do work or research for me - it's a blessing to finally do research that I'm passionate about.

I'm simply looking for people with history involving these interesting products to help share them with myself and other historians (or fanatics, however you put it). The human experience is just as valuable, if not more so, than the rarest documentation, photograph, or sales brochure.

Your assistance will be gratefully noted in all future references, and hopefully, put into print in the near future.

Thank you for allowing me to solicit this, and especially for your time.

Sincerely,

Evan
