I have a 1999 Silverado Ext Cab 2wd 4.3v6 with 109,000 miles on it. I recently started getting the ses light and I read a code of 1345 Camshaft to Crankshaft correlation Fault. I replaced both the Sensors and the problem went away for 4 days and now the same code comes on every time I start the truck :driving: . It seams to run fine with no noticeable issues. I bought the truck new and have kept it in great condition. If you could please point me in a direction that can best get this problem solved, I appreciate it very much.

I just read the thread by Jasonives having the same problem with his 99 Tahoe. I believe now that its my Distributor gear. During the reassembly process I noticed quite a bit of play in the black piece that the Rotor attaches to. I will replace the gear. I'll post if it is the cure. Thanks for your time.

Here's some diagnostic tips from our service information...

Diagnostic Aids

Check the following items:

A loose CMP sensor causing a variance in the sensor signal

Excessive free play in the timing chain and gear assembly

Incorrectly installed distributor - 1 tooth off in either advance or retard positions

A loose distributor rotor on the distributor shaft

A loose or missing distributor hold down bolt

An intermittent may be caused by any of the following conditions:

A poor connection

Rubbed through wire insulation

A broken wire inside the insulation

Thoroughly check any circuitry that is suspected

I replaced the drive gear and all is fine now. Thanks again for the help!

Seen quite a few distributor gears worn so bad you could cut your finger on the teeth.
