Another Tire ???

Well, I have decided that it is time to remove the F'Stones.  I am looking at a LT 265/75R16 either GoodYear Wrangler AT/S.  The BFG's are about $15.00 more per tire but I don't mind paying if they are better.  My main concern is will there be any rubbing when I make hard turns.  Also, how much will it hurt the MPG's?  Also, anybody had any problems with either?  Thanks Guys

Don't listen to him, he's been brainwashed, w/ the BFG's you're just paying for the name on the side of the tire.

Kansas Kid should clear things up for you, I don't want to risk saying something wrong so he'll have to correct me :idontgetit:

I've got the Wrangler AT/S on my truck.  It's a very nice tire.  Rides well, handling is decent, and provides good traction off road.  I've got almost 4000 miles on them, and they still look brand new.  I would have gotten BFG but I couldn't see paying $20 more a tire, I might have if I hadn't been so cash strapped at the time.  My Mom's conversion van has BFG radials on it, the front right has a bulge coming out of the side, I have to call BFG and see if'll they'll do anything about it as they just have 20,000 miles on them, they came on the van.

I take that back I have the Wrangler RT/S on my truck.

I have 285 BFGs on my reg cab and have no rubbing. They are the best tire I have ever owned. By the way our trucks have a much more aggressive look with BFGs on them.

I can't believe that you are paying more for BFG's that Goodyears. I have GY 285's as well and with a couple of cranks on the torsion bars it looks reat. 2000 CHEVY Z71, shortbox by the way. Most people think I have lift kit on it.

Anyway must be a factory shipping thing or somthing cause up here in Alberta BFG'S are probably $75.00 less than Good Year's in the same size.

I'm on my first set of BFGs and swear by them.  I've had Goodyear, Dunlops and several other brands and none have compared.  I will say I've not had the Goodyear AT/s but then again, you can't get them in 295/75/16 which is what I run.

I put BFG's on my wifes 96 Jimmy about 20000 miles ago.  They still look like new tires.  A little noisey but not as loud as the steeltex on my 2500.  I cant wait to slap them on my truck.

I put 305 70 r 16  PROCOMP MUDTERRAIN TIRES ON MY WIFES TRUCK THESE ARE BEYOND A DOUBT THE QUIETEST MUD TIRES I HAVE EVER RUN. THEY ARE WEARING VERY WELL.  THE WET WEATHER TRACTION ISNT THE GREATEST ON PAVEMENT .NOTHING THAT 250 LBS ON SAND DIDNT FIX.

The procomps look like a very nice tire in my opinion.

I have had two sets of BFGs. the first set were nice. This second set have been on two sets of wheels and still won't balance out. I had them balanced twice with a brand new machine by a buddy of mine who has a truck accessories shop. Still not much better .Another buddy of mine had the same problem with his. If I buy another set of tires they will be Procomps.

What size rims are these on?? will they fit on stocks ? how much did they cost you? Nice looking tire and i like that they are wider then the 285/75.

i went with Goodyear at/s. i wanted bfg but i didnt want to pay so much more. plus goodyear was running a $50.00 rebate with a purchase of four. they still may be on sale. i just wanted name brand tires with aggressive tread. the goodyears were a bit noisy the first 2k but have smoothed out. no noises on turns and the sidewalls are sturdy. i get good traction wet and dry, but because of the tread, they arent very smooth on the highway. but i feel confidant with them on my truck and have recommended them to friends that seem to love them. good luck with your pick.
