Brake shake

Maybe you can help me here. I have a 2005 Silverado Ext Cab thats about four months old with 13k miles. I've started noticing some shaking while braking at around 40 mph. I have noticed some scoring on the discs so I took it back to the dealer and pointed out the scoring. The service advisor said that he could turn them but they would go right back to where they were eventually because of the metal content in the pads. Sounds like BS to me, my father in law has the same truck with 30k and the rotors are smooth. Anyway, I left it with him so he could do some other stuff and he said he'd check it out. When I got back with him he said that his service guy said that there was a TSB regarding the exaust system and he had the part to correct it ordered. I don't really think that the exaust thing will fix it. I really seems to be the brakes to me, it only shakes when the brakes are warmed up, after a little stop and go.

A little scoring on the rotors is not unusual nor is it harmful. We see it all the time. As for the vibration... sounds like the rotors probably need resurfacing because of runout, not the scoring, but without me driving it to feel it, I can only guess.

Would I have runout so soon?  Also wouldn't it be noticable even when the brakes are cold and at any speed?

Runout happens. We've seen it on vehicles with less than 5000 miles. Yes, I would think it should be noticeable warm or cold, but again, without me personally experiencing it, I can't say 100% what it is.
