Incredible! I hope that sorry SOB isn't a member of this forum. If he is, he'll bet burned for sure! Talk about a pariah for life

I think that got a little out of hand. Lots of people could get in trouble that posted there. Too many people got involved in that. It's up to 72 pages!

And the site is really slow right now.

Alright carbuster, what's the scoop.

I'm a member on pirates and haven't been able to get on, WTF!

What did this kid do?

Mods ended up closing the thread because it was really getting out of hand. People were signing up just to post stupid stuff. Heck of a read, though.

I'm not a member there, but of course I was linked to this thread on a nother forum.

Basically, in a nut shell (sorta), the original guy, who's screenname was cdubzon40s, was selling "new" gears and such, and originally listed the selling price of $100 plus $15 shipping. Well another member there, Mochamike, agreed to purchase them for that price, but after the deal was made, cdubzon40s editted and changed the listed price to $125 plus shipping, making the total out to $140. But when he received Mochamike's check, it was only for $115 of course, so he rose a stink about it, because he "needed" the extra cash for gas and such.

Well, other members got involved and gave him a pretty vulgar lecture about not changing the price. Mike then stated to return his money because he could purchase new gears himself for about that much, but it turns out that cdubz cashed the check anyway, and was pretty insistent on getting the additional money. Another member then recognized his screenname from another forum where he actually said that he installed the gears in his truck, but it turned out he didn't want them. So now it was revealed that the gears were used. The massive lecture continued, and he was saying that he wasn't gonna do anything.

Well then a Mod got involved and stated that he was committing Mail Fraud, and that he worked for a law firm and could easily pursue a legal route with everything that was eventually admitted. All of these other members continued to get involved, and eventually his full name was listed where he posted that himself on another forum.

So from knowing his name, and where he was from (under his avatar), they easily found all this public information about him listed on the internet...his family's names, his home phone and cell phone numbers, home address, and another member even went to school with him and posted all 4 of his high school yearbook pictures.

He was eventually pressured into sending the gears, but of course it was revealed that they were used after that, so Mike agreed to do a "Return to Sender" option and eventually cdubz sent a money order for the original amount, and Mike was waiting til today for it to clear.

But by then the damage wa already done. He talked too much trash to everybody, and that thread was linked to in pretty much every forum out there on the net in the states and up in Canada, so EVERYONE knew who he was, where he lived, what he looked like, what his girlfriend looked like, his phone numbers, his parents' phone numbers and names, where he went to high school, where he's currently going to college, and even his future plans to go the Naval Academy. So sad.

People were calling him letting him know what a schmuck he was, and that he needed to do the right thing, etc, and all these new members were joining to post where they heard about the thread and to simply bash him. It got pretty bad, but pretty humurous at times.

OK, so that wasn't exactly in a nut shell, but I think you get the point.

You get an A+ for that outstanding book report!

Since you all know what's going on now, it's time to hit the last 10 or so pages of the thread. There's some really good Photoshop submissions there!

Dang, I guess that it is all over the link goes to the site but all the ranting is gone Mike must have been able to cash the Western Union Money Order at his bank. I don't think I would use them again because you can't cash it anywhere. All I can say now is to be careful so you don't get wenzeled!!

Sad thing is, that's the second time that's happened there. (to my knowledge)

There was a guy before this that promised parts, people sent money to him to "reserve" said parts.

Long story short, he never came up with the parts and never returned the money.

Come to think about it, no one has heard from him in about two years. Doubt he'll be missed.

Being a TJ owner I visit that site occassionally. I saw the thread right after it first started and was only a few pages long. Geez, it's amazing how your reputation gets ruined when you screw with a fellow Jeeper!

After I first bought my TJ, some dweebs broke into it and jacked my digital camera and cell phone. Granted I should have never left those items in there to begin with, but theft is theft and it's still wrong. My local Jeep group (www.outdooradventuregroup.org) was very helpful in helping me track down the vandals. The vandals placed a call with my cell phone and I was able to get an address and what not afterwards. I had so many offers to mess with the guy it was truly amazing. I've never seen such brotherhood as with Jeep owners.

Anyhow, back on topic. Apparently a website was created after all this happened. It gives a brief narrative on the front page:

The sad thing is, he'd prolly win if he did sue.

But honestly, I doubt he has the balls left to stand up and say anything about what's transpired over this transaction.

What a chode!
