I just noticed, 7k later, that the headliner and overhead console is tan. My interior Is light pewter, or Graphite, one of `em.

Does this seem out of ordinary?

My '06 GP's interior is "Ebony", but everything above the beltline (bottom of the windows) is tan, except the top of the dash, that's still "ebony"...

Not sure about the trucks, but my '01 Suburban has a light gray headliner, so all of the plastic trim up there (rear a/c controls, etc.) matches the dashboard. I think my interior is graphite,

If you have a tan headlinr and the rest of the interior is gray, it sounds like something was replaced.

No fellas... the factory went to one color headliner awhile back to cut cost.

I noticed it looking at the new trucks over the last few years on the lots.

Also about that time they started cutting the side molding down on the trucks.. ever notice how it used to run from wheel-well to wheel-well?? not anymore.

They started taking the 1500 emblems off in late 2001 and started putting sticker decals on some of the LS trucks and then sometime in early 03 just quite side emblems on the 1500 altogether.

I have noticed plenty of subtle changes from GM and I think they are all due to cutting back a few bucks here and there to save money. They are in fact bleeding red ink very bad.

It used to be that Z-71, LT, and LS mean something.

Now they are using Z-71 badges to sell 2 wheel drive suburbans. I have also noticed LT trucks with cloth seats... one salesmen told me they are doing away with the LS trim package and going to 3 levels of LT...????

Notice how the incentives are once again back, if any are looking at buying a new truck give it a few months because like i said in august there is no way gm can ever go back to the old way they sold cars and trucks before.Only thing they can do is employee price everything but there select few like they did most of last year or else there sales are going to be in the dump!

It used to be that the Silverado was a trim level, now it is the standard designation for the trucks. Blah.........., but afterall, I guess they figure that you will not look up when you are driving. How long did it take you to notice anyway? You can always go to a upolstry shop and have it replaced.

Yep,Thats right,Three levels of "LT" Trim for '06.."LT1" "LT2" & "LT3"

Basically as far as the seats go "LT1" has a cloth split bench "LT2" has cloth buckets w/power drivers side adjustment and center console and "LT3" has leather buckets w/10 way driver and passenger adjusment and also w/ctr.console.
