Whats your average speed ?

OK so maybe I have way too much free time but if you use your hour meter and your odometer you can come up with your average speed.

I have 100248 miles and 3327.9 hours so my average speed is 30.12 mph.

I do a mix of highway and city with a little more city driving.

So whats your average?

Are the hours on the D.I.C. engine hours or clock hours. If they're engine hours, I think they'd be based on rated engine RPM (which is pretty high) and any time spend at lesser rpms would slow the clock.

Maybe someone needs to drive for one hour by a clock and then see if the DIC has clocked one hour and less than one hour.

So I just looked in my owners manual and it says " The odometer can also display the number of hours the engine has run " .

I think its based on total time the engine is running.

If you have the button/rod to push to go between trip and the regular odometer on your cluster, press and hold it in for a few seconds while the truck is off, and it'll display the hours. At least that's how my 99 works.
