Jimmy problem wont shift into any gear

hey i just purchased a 99 jimmy which was in an accident

got hit. the drivers side control arm was bent and needed to be replaced but everything else in that region seems to be ok. the question is when i got the truck it shows that it is set in neutral, the car starts, but when i try to shift it out of neutral nothing happens does not shift, you cant hear any sounds of change from neutral to park or drive, or anything. it just stays in neutral doesnt seem like the computer recoznizes it. but when i hit the 4x4 lo or high, looks like its switches b/c the light changes for each.

 

any ideas? i was thinking maybe the axel might be out of place.

 

any help would be appericated.

Is the trans linkage actually moving when you shift it? Even if the computer was dead, it should go into gear.

ok found my problem a line was disconneted, to prevent any damage to the 4x4 when the car needed to be towed
