3rd door problems

I've noticed that the 3rd door on my Sierra doesn't shut right some times.  It does this mostly on very cold morning.  What could the problem be?  Maybe some water got in there and freezes over night?  I had the dealer look at it once but it worked fine while there, anything I can do to adjust it?

Thanks

When I had my 2000 excab Silverado I had the same problem.  The dealer adjusted the latch mechanism and the doors worked fine since then.  My problem was the same as yours... it only happened when it was cold outside.

My back doors have even opened slightly after I started driving. There is a service bulletin out on my 2000 Silverado that addresses the 3rd and 4th door cold closing problem. My Chevy dealer has ordered new upper and lower latches and plans to also remove the lower door gasket plug (the short piece of filler where the gasket meets).

Desert Z71,

Do you have a sight where I can take a look at that service bulletin?

I have this problem as well on my 2000 4dr. A quick fix that I find works is simply how you shut the door. Close it holding it, don't just slam is shut it has a tendency to bounce back a bit. If you shut it with you hand firm on it, mine shut right every time. I still would look into and recall or whatever may be on the hinges. Just thought I would help you through for now.

2000 GMC: I may have the same thing as RyanbabZ71. I found the service bulletin on the website below, printed it and brought it to the dealer. Based on my truck's VIN and the problem I described the dealer found a service bulletin in their computer. I don't know if they are the same number. It described the parts and procedures.

As chevy4x4trucks says, I get the howling too.
