99' Tahoe problem

Recommended Posts

My friend has a 1999 2dr 4wd Tahoe and after you come to a stop, and then start to accelerate, there feels like there is slack in the driveline that sort of makes the truck jolt a little bit.  It is only a little bit, but its noticable and annoying.

The only thing I can't figure out is, why there would be any slack in the driveline you would feel when you don't take it out of park?  If it was a worn U-joint or something, I would think you would only feel that if the car was put into Drive from Park or into Reverse from Park.  Since there is still a small load on the driveline when you stop the truck in gear, I can't figure out why it would do this?

Has anyone experienced this problem or anything like it?

Thanks!

yep mine does it too but cant get it fixed because my truck is out of warranty.  Ive heard some people say that there is a tsb out to replace the yoke to a nickel plated one. But ive also heard that that only fixes it for a few months. ???
